Our Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Center for Global Integrity (CGI) is developing a pan-African portfolio of independent journalism programs designed to strengthen access to credible information, investigate matters of public interest, and promote accountability across Africa and its diaspora communities.<\/p>\n

Investigative Journalism & Public Accountability<\/span><\/p>\n

CGI aims to produce rigorous, evidence-based investigations into corruption, governance, human rights, financial wrongdoing, and abuses of power.<\/p>\n

Our approach emphasizes cross-border collaboration, source protection, independent verification, and reporting that serves the public interest.<\/p>\n

AfroTruth AI Accountability & Investigative Journalism<\/span><\/p>\n

CGI’s AfroTruth initiative focuses on the growing influence of artificial intelligence across African societies, economies, workplaces, and public institutions.<\/p>\n

The program aims to investigate AI deployments, algorithmic discrimination, digital rights, labor-market impacts, corporate accountability, and government use of automated technologies.<\/p>\n

Through investigations, accessible explainers, and public discussions, AfroTruth seeks to strengthen transparency and informed debate about emerging technologies.<\/p>\n

Multilingual Journalism & Regional Reporting<\/span><\/p>\n

CGI is developing a multilingual reporting network designed to serve audiences across North, West, Central, East, and Southern Africa.<\/p>\n

Our planned language coverage includes Arabic, English, French, Hausa, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Ndebele, Portuguese, Shona, Somali, Swahili, Xhosa, and Zulu, with opportunities for expansion as resources become available.<\/p>\n

The program seeks to reach underserved communities through locally informed journalism and cross-border collaboration.<\/p>\n

Fact-Checking & Media Literacy<\/span><\/p>\n

CGI aims to counter disinformation through independent fact-checking, verification, explanatory journalism, and public media-literacy initiatives.<\/p>\n

Our work will help audiences evaluate information critically and recognize misleading or manipulated content.<\/p>\n

Community Engagement & Public Dialogue<\/span><\/p>\n

CGI plans to organize town halls, moderated discussions, interviews, and other community-centered activities connecting journalists, citizens, and relevant institutions.<\/p>\n

These initiatives will encourage informed participation in public affairs and create opportunities for communities to raise issues that deserve journalistic attention.<\/p>\n

Journalism Training & Professional Development<\/span><\/p>\n

CGI seeks to strengthen professional journalism through training in investigative methods, digital verification, multimedia storytelling, ethical reporting, source protection, and responsible use of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n
